AMS QQA 250/5 2024 is a high strength American specification aluminium alloy which contains 3.8 to 4.9% copper. The material is supplied in rolled sheet, alclad to 1.5% nominal material thickness, solution heat-treated, cold worked and naturally aged to achieve a substantially ‘T3’ condition, made to the American Standards.
Also generally available in ‘O’ annealed condition for more severe bending, forming or spinning operations; further details available on request.
AMS QQA 250/5 2024 offers good machinability and very good resistance to atmospheric corrosion attack. The alloy benefits from good formability too.
