AMS QQA 225/6 2024 is an American specification aluminium alloy which benefits from high strength and contains 3.8 to 4.9% copper. We supply the product in drawn, rolled or cold-finished forms. The material is solution heat-treated and controlled stretched to achieve the T351 condition, and is produced to the American Standard.
The alloy offers very good machinability and is excellent when welding using resistance, spot and beam methods. Other welding methods are not recommended. Corrosion resistance to atmospheric attack is poor.
