Smiths Central Operations is our bulk warehousing and processing centre based in Biggleswade.
Our central warehouse stocks more than 8,000 products. Our products include engineering alloys and plastics. The sheer scale of this stockholding is impressive. Not only do we stock a wide range of products; it's how we stock that is more important. Our range includes a variety of shapes stocked in closer incremental sizes and often, in both metric and imperial sizes.
Smiths Central Operations handles all bulk processing for materials within the Group. For example, we cut more than 2 million billets every year. We also offer high volume processing including plate and band sawing, sheet guillotining, tube cutting and honing, and first stage engineering. The facility represents a sizeable commercial investment and provides comprehensive stock and processing support for our 14 UK service centres.
