S145D is a precipitation hardening stainless steel with high strength and moderate to good corrosion resistance.
The alloy is identical in chemical composition to both BS S143 and also BS S144, but has a higher tensile strength which is achieved through heat-treatment.
BS S145 Aerospace Stainless Steel Bar can be supplied solution treated, or solution treated and precipitated. Due to the added heat treatment, the alloy has an even greater tensile strength when compared with S143 and S144. The alloy offers moderate to good corrosion resistance.
