7175 aluminium alloy - for applications where improved formability and toughness are required.
Used extensively in the aerospace industry, the combination of high mechanical strength, fracture toughness and stress corrosion cracking resistance, makes this alloy suitable for structural aircraft applications. The T-73 temper eliminates the development of stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
7175 is similar to 7075 but has superior strength and toughness. The alloy is used mainly in structural components for aerospace applications where high mechanical strength is a requirement. 7175 is also known as a forging alloy.
