BS S513 is a simple carbon spring steel containing higher levels of carbon than BS S510 and BS S511.
Available in hardened/tempered sheet and strip but tensile strength only reaches hardness. The alloy requires protection from corrosion if it is to be exposed to the atmosphere.
BS S513 aerospace sheet is known as a carbon spring steel and can be supplied in sheet or strip. The alloy can be hardened / tempered and offers higher levels of carbon than its BS S510 and BS S511 counterparts.
