2017A Commercial Aluminium Alloy

2017A aluminium alloy is a heat treatable and wrought aluminium product which includes the significant addition of copper as an added alloying element.

For High Strength Structural Components

The material offers an attractive combination of high strength with excellent fatigue resistance. 2017A offers good corrosion resistance though traditional welding is not possible as the corrosion resistance characteristics would be affected. Welding is possible using resistance welding techniques. With superior strength, ductility and formability, 2017A aluminium is commonly used in engineering applications. The material also offers greater strength when compared to 2011 aluminium.
