Stainless Steel Channels

Stainless steel channels (also known as 'C' sections) is a general engineering product which available ex-stock from Smiths Metal Centres Limited. We off our channels in a range of grades and incremental sizes to suit most customer applications. We offer stainless steel channels in standard lengths, or we will cut them in-house to your specific size requirements.



Typical Applications

The applications for stainless steel channels vary dependent on the particular grade selected. Applications for 304/304L stainless steel channels include hospital equipment, instrumentation and in processing equipment for handling chemicals, dyes, crude and refined oils. 316/316L applications include chemical and pharmaceutical equipment, pump shafts and in applications where a combination of low magnetic permeability and superior corrosion resistance is a consideration. Type 321 stainless applications include the film and photo industry, power station construction, automotive and general construction.



Hygienic Environments

As stainless steel has low corrosion resistance, it is a common building material in sectors where hygienic standards need to be maintained. Hospitals, food and beverage producers and laboratories all benefit from the use of this particular material. We offer our customers full traceability for all the engineering materials we sell courtesy of a unique barcoding system and all our products come with clear, readable test certification.
