Tube forms, categorised by outside diameter/dimensions and wall thickness, are an important part of product selection and there is now a wide range of shapes to choose from including round, square, rectangular, oval and triangular. Production method must also be taken into account as tube can be supplied as seamless, welded or drawn depending on the intended application.
We also offer in-house tube cutting and honing services which means we can supply your material to the exact size and bore finish required.
Various steel and stainless steel grades are supplied and include carbon, carbon-manganese, chromium-molybdenum-vanadium (heat treatable), and chromium-molybdenum (heat treatable or deep hardening according to specification). Austenitic stainless steels, stabilised with titanium (Type 321) or niobium (Type 347), are also supplied.
Aerospace alloy and stainless steels tubes are defined within the British Standard Aerospace series using a designation system within which all grades begin with the letter ‘T'. Various other designation systems and standards exist. We also supply to UNS, W Nr. and AFNOR material specifications.
